Retail vs Custom Made Jewellery

When it comes to purchasing jewellery, customers often have two options: retail ready jewellery or custom made pieces. While both options offer their own unique advantages, it's important to understand the differences between them to make an informed decision. At Handleys Of Sydney, we utilize CAD technology to create a 3D video of the item of jewellery, ensuring that our customers are involved in the design process every step of the way.

Retail Ready Jewellery

Retail ready jewellery refers to pre-designed pieces that are readily available for purchase. These pieces are created in bulk and are typically found in jewellery stores or online marketplaces. The advantage of retail ready jewellery is that it offers a wide range of options to choose from, allowing customers to find a piece that suits their style and budget.

At Handleys Of Sydney, our retail ready jewellery collection features high-quality nartural, or lab-grown diamonds in various shapes and sizes. Our diamonds are meticulously graded in cut, polish, and symmetry, ensuring that our customers receive diamonds of exceptional quality. Whether you're looking for a classic solitaire ring or a dazzling pair of earrings, our retail ready jewellery collection has something for everyone.

Custom Made Jewellery

Custom made jewellery, on the other hand, offers a more personalized and unique experience. With custom made jewellery, customers have the opportunity to bring their own design ideas to life. At Handleys Of Sydney, we use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to create a 3D video of the item of jewellery based on the customer's specifications.

Once the 3D video is completed, we work closely with the client to make any necessary adjustments until they are completely satisfied with the design. This collaborative process ensures that the final piece of jewellery is exactly what the customer envisioned.

After the design is finalized, we use the CAD file to 3D print a resin model of the jewellery. This resin model serves as a prototype and allows the customer to see and feel the physical representation of their design before it is cast in the desired metal.

Jewellery Casting Method

Once the resin model is approved, we proceed with the jewellery casting method. This involves creating a mold of the resin model and filling it with molten metal, such as gold or platinum. The molten metal solidifies within the mold, taking on the shape and details of the original design.

After the metal has cooled and hardened, the jewellery piece is carefully removed from the mold and undergoes further polishing and finishing processes to achieve the desired shine and texture. The end result is a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery that is tailored to the customer's preferences.

At Handleys Of Sydney, we take pride in offering both retail ready jewellery and custom made pieces. Whether you prefer the convenience of ready-made designs or the personalization of custom creations, we are committed to providing you with high-quality jewellery that exceeds your expectations.H

How Long Does Custom Jewellery Take

Dependent on the complexity of the design and the amount of iterations needed to create the perfect design. We would tentatively offer a time window of three weeks. However, we keep you up-to-date at all times during the creation process with renewed lead times until the design is finished.
